People often get asked what’s more challenging, Having none to one, or going from one to two children? The real answer is that it doesn’t matter, in my opinion, because whatever life gives you, it eventually becomes your new normal. You will always have those questions in the back of you’re mind. How can you make your life a little smoother before giving birth to your first child or if you were on your tenth?

I am not going to lie and say you would jump right into parenthood running. But what I have learned over time is that having a routine, calendar, and dashboard with a mix of going with the flow has put life into perspective in managing all the things I have to do, and I’ll explain why!

Over time I have naturally gotten used to doing things by myself because my family doesn’t live near us, and I had to learn how to live life in the most practical way I knew how.

  1. Having a consistent routine is not only suitable for you but your children too. It helps set a schedule, establish expectations, build confidence and independence, establishes healthy and constructive habits.

  2. Dashboards are my favorite when I need to schedule out meal preps, schedule my productivity for the week for everyone in the family(doctor appt, meeting, deadlines, etc.). Because I am a visual planner, and many times conversations get lost, it is my way to communicate with my family without saying anything. We all be on the same wave and know what to expect for the week.

  3. At one point, I used Erin Condren, but now I use a Happy Planner(and I’ll explain why I made the switch on a separate blog). Whichever planner you use, whether it’s paper or digital in my Tabitha Brown voice, that’s your business, I am a visual person, and I love writing everything down. But the importance of having a planner is setting goals and achieving them, weekly check-ins, and creating a structure for yourself and the craziness we call “Mom Life.” Keep in mind that when you’re planning, leave some room for flexibility because life, as you know, isn’t scripted.

  4. Going with the flow is something I honestly learned this March. I would leave a little room for change, but never for disappointment. I used to have my heart set on one thing, but when it fell through like if I planned to take the kids for an outside play and the meteorologist said it would be sunny for most of the day and evening and when clock stricks nine and it starts to be cloudy and looks like it going to rain. I use to panic and be like, what am I going to do with my children now. So I go with the flow and have options outside of the ones I already planned.

So the way I organize my week is on Sunday because Monday is the start of my week.

I start with my meal plan dashboards. Then I write on my productivity chart (you can get your FREE Lesson and Schedule). Lastly, I bring everything together in my Happy Planners, such as meals planner, productivity, content ideas, and goals while keeping my sanity. I have a whole video on “How I Use My Productivity Chart” and “How I Stay Organized” if you’re as visual as I am.

Let me know what you have implemented to help life a little easier or some things you would like to help you organize you and your family life.
